I started making Ramona’s Plumber videos for the same reason I explained repairs at the kitchen table: people make better decisions when they understand what the pipes are doing. A homeowner should not have to guess, panic, or agree to an expensive repair without knowing the basic shape of the problem.
The early videos were simple. I put a part on the bench, pointed a camera at it, and showed what failed and why. If somebody could watch five minutes and avoid replacing the wrong thing—or recognize that a job needed a licensed plumber—the video had done useful work.
Over time, “Ramona’s Plumber” became more than the name of the business I was running. The business name moved on, but the teaching did not. The channel and DIY Plumbing Advice let me talk about plumbing, water, and practical judgment with people far beyond one service area.
What keeps me making content is pretty straightforward: the questions keep coming, and clear answers still matter. Plumbing changes, products change, and codes change, but homeowners still deserve an honest explanation before anybody reaches for their wallet or a wrench.
