Make it safe
Shut off water and power, then verify both are actually off.
Greg’s field guide
Connect supply and drainage correctly and prevent dirty-water surprises.
A dishwasher is three jobs: a safe water supply, a protected drain path, and power installed to local requirements.
Step by step
Shut off water and power, then verify both are actually off.
Inspect the supply line, stop valve, drain hose, and air gap or high loop.
Keep the drain hose routed high to prevent sink water flowing backward.
Run a full cycle with the toe-kick removed and inspect with a flashlight.
Dry everything, run the fixture more than once, and look again in ten minutes. A tiny drip now becomes cabinet damage later.
